I couldn’t wait to blog this wedding because I have such a story to tell about my car. First and foremost, the wedding. Seeing these two get married was just so touching to see the emotions pour out towards each other, from their parents and just all the love you could feel throughout the day. Obviously Jess and Josh are easy to photograph and their wedding party rocked it out as well! At night, we partied it out, in style, at Andrew Richards Designs which is attached to the Up Country in downtown Toronto, where I’ve also never heard so many pro-Portuguese references in my life from mainly Jessica’s side (who’s obviously Portuguese). Their guests ROCKED the photobooth and I can’t wait to share more images in the slideshow.

A thing that I enjoy about my job is that it’s dynamic. The moment you think you’ve seen it all, dealt with it all and experienced it all, something completely unimaginable lands in your lap. This wedding was no exception. After our portrait session in the afternoon, I quickly talked with Jess about getting to Andrew Richards Designs and where there was parking. She mentioned a couple of Green Ps, a free parking lot at a loft they were developing near by and also a Volkswagen dealership which was right across the street. I dropped off Gee, we unloaded all the gear at the venue and then I circled around to find parking. The Volkswagen garage seemed the most convenient since it was across the street so I parked there. Inside the two-level parking garage were mainly VWs but also had a few non-VWs so I figured other guests were parking here as well. Sweet deal.
We shoot the wedding, have fantastic food and a fantastic time and now it’s time to go home. I run across the street and notice something different about the garage as I approach it. The sinking feeling starts to hit and the, “Oh no…” begins to fill my head. The garage is gated. Locked and gated.
Oh no…
Turns out the private garage is where VW keeps their new cars and also where keep vehicles that need to be serviced. They close at 3pm however for some reason they didn’t close the gate until after I parked there last night (around 5:30pm). What’s even more amazing is that VW isn’t open on Sundays. The servicing area opens at 7:30am on Monday :) So short of the long is that I cabbed it back to Mississauga with all my gear and used my dad’s new car for Sunday’s wedding. Woke up around 6:30am this morning and drove down to the dealership. I prayed as I turned the corner that 1. The gate would be open and 2. My car hadn’t been towed away. As usual, God is good and both prayers were answered.
Phew.
Weddings.
Good times.
